Are you an experienced engineer looking to take on a new challenging role within the automotive landscape? Our client is looking for a talented Senior Controls Engineer to join their team. 

The company

Our client is on a mission to create the future of powertrains. They work on the full lifecycle from strategic planning to testing of powertrain and electrification technologies. They have got a rich history in the automotive space, working with major vehicle OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to optimise their products.

Working towards a more sustainable future, they are operating in the electrification space to advance the development of new, more sustainable technologies.

The role
As a Senior Engineer, you will receive a variety of customer requirements, to which you’ll utilise your experience with automotive software to provide tailored engineering solutions that achieve customer satisfaction. You’ll ensure the smooth operation projects and often undertake a Project Lead role, leading and driving continuous improvement initiatives among a team of dedicated engineers to create quality project outcomes. You’ll be highly valued for your technical expertise and have the opportunity to develop embedded control systems and dynamic models from design to verification. 

Other responsibilities include:

  • Delivering quality service within timescales

  • Planning, supporting and undertaking functional vehicle development 

  • Ensuring rapid responses to customer queries

  • Maintaining operational excellence for the customer base

  • Building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

  • Presenting data to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Translating client strategy into actionable projects 

  • Creating technical project proposals and resourcing estimates 
     

The requirements

You will have demonstrable experience in control systems development within the automotive space, as well as… 

  • Degree educated in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic or Control System Engineering, or equivalent experience 

  • Familiar with key automotive software tools (including Matlab and Simulink) 

  • Strong understanding of key engineering processes and procedures 

  • Innovative and enjoys resolving challenges  

  • Outstanding information gathering and problem-solving skills

  • Analytical, logical and detail-orientated 

  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment 

  • Willing to develop and take on complex technical concepts 

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
