Our client is a leading manufacturer of testing solutions across a huge range of industries and is currently looking for a Senior Channel Sales Engineer to join their team in the South East of the UK grow their business across Russia, Turkey and MEA.

 The company

Established in 1946, our client is a global test equipment manufacturer who provide solutions across a wide spectrum of industries, from electronics to aerospace. They produce specialist testing machines to test the properties of materials and components in different environments. Their mission is to provide their customers with expert support and world-class service.

The role

As Senior Channel Sales Engineer you’ll be supporting the sales team with business growth by selling our client’s solutions to both new and existing customers. Working closely with customers, you’ll build strong relationships with key stakeholders to identify each customer’s unique needs. By presenting solutions and demonstrating our client’s product portfolio with a consultative sales approach, you’ll drive sales growth and execute sales strategies and account plans.


Responsibilities include:

  • Achieving sales and growth targets
  • Managing customer projects
  • Selling to new and existing customers
  • Analysing business needs and requirements
  • Adopting a consultative selling approach to meet customer needs
  • Presenting proposed solutions and demonstrating the product portfolio to potential customers
  • Coordinating both remote and face-to-face product demonstrations
  • Negotiating contracts with customers
  • Working with the sales team to develop and implement sales strategies for new markets and accounts
  • Developing account plans for existing customers
  • Driving customer satisfaction
  • Identifying market trends to influence business strategies


The requirements

You will have a strong track record in a technical sales role, working with complex capital equipment or industrial systems. Other requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant technical discipline (or substantial relevant experience)
  • Experience working in a technical sales environment
  • Demonstrable track record selling complex capital equipment
  • Experience supplying products to the automotive, energy or biomedical industries
  • Strong consultative selling skills
  • Understanding of public tender and export compliance processes
  • Able to build strong relationships with customers and identify their business needs
  • Highly analytical and adept at problem solving
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Driven and eager to succeed in a sales role
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and quotation tools
