The role

As Senior BMS Engineer, you will initially support, with the aim to eventually lead, the system’s activities in the development of the BMS. Following the control systems development process you will support all verification, validation, and commissioning activities.  

Other responsibilities include:

• Developing the BMS systems architecture 

• Supporting the application software, basic software, and functional safety teams 

• Supporting software and hardware integration 

• Defining validation and verification plans 

• Calibrating and commissioning BMS 

The requirements

You’ll have 4+ years experience in leading BMS systems development activities and leading BMS calibration and commissioning, as well as… 

• Minimum BSc or BEng (2:1) in Automotive, Electrical, or equivalent Engineering  

• Relevant experience ideally in systems engineering and system delivery  

• Experience in automotive design, validation, and integration  

• Experience of MATLAB/Simulink and Enterprise Architect 

• Able to lead engineering processes 

• Strong computer literacy skills (MS Office) 

• Confident in presenting to customers and the management team 

• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) 

• Driving license valid for driving in the UK 

Preferable: 

• Experience of HV Li-ion Batteries and electric vehicle architectures and components 

• Automotive functional safety knowledge (ISO 26262) 

• Experience in the development of one or more: automotive powertrain control systems, high-voltage electrical power supplies, hybrid vehicles, ADAS features or similar technical fields
