Are you an experienced engineer looking for a new challenge within the automotive landscape? Our client is looking for a Senior Battery Management Software Engineer to join their team.

Our client has a rich heritage in the automotive landscape with decades of experience at the forefront of motorsport. Their high-performance solutions in the power electronics, battery and electric motor domains are driving the adoption of electrification and driving the transition towards a carbon-neutral future.  

The role 

As a Senior Engineer you’ll be highly valued for your knowledge of Battery Management control systems. You’ll bring your technical expertise to plan and lead the development of embedded software of a new high voltage battery platform, mentoring a team of talented engineers across the whole product lifecycle. Your role will be pivotal in supporting the expansion of sales within the Motorsport space. 

Other responsibilities include: 

  • Leading design reviews of software projects 

  • Liaising with suppliers and partners to ensure suitable technical specifications are met 

  • Channelling resources effectively to support the business in achieving annual objectives  

  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives 

  • Working in accordance to processes and safety requirements 

  • Maintaining detailed knowledge of industry trends 

 

The requirements 

You’ll have demonstrable experience of developing high voltage (1kV) battery management software, as well as: 

  • Degree educated in Engineering, Electronics, Mathematics, Computer Science or another relevant discipline 

  • Experience of MATLAB Simulink code generation for embedded control systems 

  • Strong understanding of vehicle communication protocols 

  • Familiarity with SIL and HIL test tools 

  • Experience of electric motorsports is advantageous (such as Formula E) 

  • Customer focused with excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Outstanding information gathering and problem solving skills 

  • Able to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment  

  • Curious individual who embraces new technology and innovation 

  • Results-orientated and driven 

  • Flexible and willing to travel
