Job description

Our client is looking for a Sale Engineer to join their team and generate new business opportunities across the US. Within this role, you will represent our client’s value proposition and join a team that is responsible for driving enormous growth within the business.

They strive to achieve operational excellence to develop a safer, more sustainable, and more productive world. The product can serve a diverse number of sectors, from oil, gas, and petrochemical to discrete manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, government and many more.


The role

As a Sales Engineer, you will build and maintain a high level of knowledge about our client’s product portfolio and provide continuous knowledge to the sales team regarding technical aspects and benefits of the software products. 

Other responsibilities include…

  • Building an understanding of prospective customer needs 

  • Identifying prospect business pains our clients’ solution can resolve 

  • Conducting software demonstrations  

  • Helping Account Executives develop strategies for pursuing sales opportunities 

  • Supporting the sales process and following best practices 

  • Helping to coordinate and complete customer proposals 

  • Supporting marketing activities by presenting as an expert  


The requirements

You’ll have experience and domain knowledge in the areas of environmental compliance, operational risk management, product stewardship or enterprise software, as well as…

  • Degree educated in engineering, computer science, environmental/chemical engineering 

  • Comfortable with public speaking and conducting presentations to small or medium-sized audiences  

  • 5+ years experience in implementing or using data management software products, especially software having to do with EHS&S data management 

  • 2 years+ experience in RFP/RFI proposal writing and analysis for software organisation 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Strong attention to detail 

  • High level of initiative and strong business judgement  

  • Proven pre-sales or consulting experience  

  • Able to maintain effective interpersonal relationships with stakeholders

  • Outgoing, personable, and commercially minded 

  • Flexible and willing to travel (up to 40%)
