Do you have a track record of sales success in the Mining industry? Our client is currently looking for a highly motivated Sales Account Manager to join their team in Australia. 


The company 

Our client is focused on driving the digital transformation agenda across the oil and gas, chemical, and engineering industries. With a strong heritage in the space, they are a globally renowned organisation with customers across the world. Helping their clients to meet their sustainability and operational goals through their software portfolio, they specialise in implementing the latest in artificial intelligence and machine learning.


The role 

As a Sales Account Manager, you’ll focus on developing and growing a pipeline of opportunities for our client’s products within the mining industry. You’ll expand the customer base through driving sales campaigns to new logo mining customers and targeted strategic prospects in the Mining markets within your assigned territory.  

Other responsibilities include: 

  • Balancing a mix of new business activities including prospecting with long term account planning and managing a small number of key accounts 

  • Initiating connections with customers through cold calls 

  • Forming and maintaining senior-level customer relationships 

  • Maintaining strong domain knowledge and competitive intelligence of machine learning, Smart manufacturing, and IoT 

  • Providing sales and executive management with account updates and sales forecasts 

  • Creating awareness in the Mining industry and attending trade shows for lead generation 

  • Hitting quarterly and annual quotas 


The requirements 

You’ll have at least 6 years experience working in the mining industry, as well as: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, ideally in an engineering discipline 

  • Demonstrable experience in technical software sales, particularly in the metals or mining markets 

  • Work experience with mining companies or technology solution providers in Australia is highly desirable 

  • Strong understanding of discreet manufacturing engineering and Engineering Asset maintenance 

  • High level of business intelligence and commercial acumen  

  • Knowledge of and experience with mapping complex sales processes, from business development to closure 

  • Organised and able to confidently undertake multiple projects

  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, non-structured environment 

  • A self-starter who can work autonomously 

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Able to travel internationally (when permitted)
