Our client is continuing to be ambitious in electric and green mobility and is looking for an R&D Project Engineer to join their team in Warwickshire.  

The company

Our client design, manufacture and sell advanced single and double deck buses within the automotive market. They have developed a range of low-carbon buses with optimised drive systems, setting the benchmark for fuel economy and CO2 reduction. Their lightweight engineering, premium service and low running costs all contribute to these advanced passenger vehicles designed for a global market. 

 
The role

As an R&D Project Engineer, you will guide the vehicle line platform team to ensure projects and platform activities are completed on time, within budget and met a high standard.  

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning, measuring and reporting the delivery of new product projects 

  • Leading the platform team to control projects and deliver objectives 

  • Controlling and monitoring the project timing 

  • Supporting all stakeholders to define and achieve investment 

  • Leading the delivery of all project gateway events 

  • Planning and tracking the engineering release timing schedule 

  • Supporting the R&D function in the evaluation and maintenance of new and existing processes and standards  

 

The requirements 

You will have 3+ years recent experience in a new product programme management function, well as… 

  • Degree level educated in an Automotive, Mechanical or Electrical field  

  • Strong programme, financial and resource planning experience 

  • Evidence of leading complex engineering programmes to cost, quality and on time 

  • Proven experience managing a team function in a programme 

  • Vehicle electrification product experience  

  • Hyper-organised and process driven  

  • Able to provide balanced solutions for clear decision making 

  • Analytical with strong attention to detail 

  • Able to work both autonomously and as part of a team 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
