A market leader, our client is focused on implementing innovative optical technologies into their range of high-value and high-tech capital equipment systems. They are a world-renowned German manufacturer with a reputation for delivering gold-standard technologies. 

The role 

As PST Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing new software solutions to solve complex customer problems and maintaining existing products. Your core focus will be within the field of particle analysis supporting some of the biggest names in the global mining and oil service industries.  

You will help to determine the future of the team, how they can develop and enhance their codebase and transform how they work.  

Responsibilities include: 

  • Designing, implementing, and testing software products according to specifications 

  • Developing your understanding of the software requirements and how to create the best solution 

  • Re-creating and re-imagining the existing products within the new platform 

  • Fulfilling role requirements with the application development, sales, and marketing teams 

  • Undertaking software maintenance of existing products 

  • Complying with company procedures and controls (ISO 9001 & 14001) 

  • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of current IT and programming technology 

  • Performing other duties that may be required from time to time 

 

The requirements 

You’ll have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a professional software developer in a commercial environment, as well as… 

  • Masters or Higher Degree in a relevant subject 

  • Several years’ experience with C#, .NET, WPF, MVVM, Windows, Azure DevOps or TFS 

  • Skilled with SOLID coding principles  

  • Motivated to keep code quality at highest standards 

  • Experience automating tests on all levels (unit test, component test, system test) 

  • Able to investigate complex issues and solve problems 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • A structured and team-oriented way of working 

  • Experience and willingness to work in an agile (scrum) environment  

  • Able to travel across Europe (5-10 days per year) 

  • Fluent in English, German is a plus
