Are you passionate about motorsports? We are supporting our client in their search for a Principal Timekeeper to join their team in Kent and take ownership for timing across F1, F2, F3 and Supercar race weekends.   


The company

Our client is responsible for the promotion of the FIA Formula One World Championships. The services they provide ensure the quality of the sport and the viewing experience. 

The role

As a Principal Timekeeper, you will supervise and quality-assure the Sporting services provided by Formula One. You will engage with suppliers, end-users, internal teams, and other stakeholders to ensure the efficiency and quality of service is continuously improved.  

Responsibilities include: 

  • Supporting the development of day-to-day activities of the Sporting Services team 

  • Taking full responsibility for the accuracy of event results 

  • Maintaining a dialogue with the organisers, management and event stewards of each event  

  • Understanding series developments and regulations 

  • Supervising the validation, quality assurance and publication of reports 

  • Monitoring and troubleshooting complex software programmes  

  • Evaluating new projects and programmes of work  

  • Providing peer support and review across the Sporting Systems team 


The requirements

You will have experience with timekeeping, scoring and data analysis at sporting events, as well as… 

  • Degree level educated in a technical subject 

  • National Timekeeping Officiating Licence issued by an ASN 

  • Experience with data mining, statistical analysis, and data visualisations 

  • Experience with IT, software, and related systems 

  • Competent in writing technical reports and documentation 

  • Recent experience of working within a Motorsport operational environment 

  • Able to process and interpret information 

  • Operational knowledge of Motorsport Timing  

  • Excellent attention to detail 

  • Analytical and able to make accurate decisions under pressure  

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)  

  • Flexible and able to manage multiple tasks and projects  

  • Willing to work weekends and unsociable hours 

  • A Valid EU driving licence
