This is an exciting opportunity for someone wishing to apply their process engineering experience and knowledge in a dynamic hands-on manufacturing environment, producing world-class products across a range of projects.  

The company 

We are representing an industry-leading consultancy company, that specialises in the development of breakthrough engineering and electrical proposition systems. They are looking for a Principal Manufacturing Engineer to be a key member of their Performance Products team with a broad remit to support New Product Introduction projects.  

The role 

As a Principal Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for Processes and Procedures associated with the assembly of products from concept to series production. You will provide technical leadership and project management of engineering projects. You will lead, develop and implement manufacturing process documentation as well as support the production team to improve product quality and efficiency.  

The ideal candidate will not be afraid to make changes, as they will be expected to make a high degree of impact. To find success in this role, you will be a dynamic, engaging individual with an outstanding ability to communicate and motivate at all levels. The candidate must be forward-thinking, strategic and have a commercial mindset. 

The requirements 

You will have experience of NPI or Process Engineering role where skills can be transferred into the objectives described above, gained within the automotive sector, as well as…  

  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience  

  • Technical and commercial project leadership experience  

  • Experience of automotive technology and product development  

  • Hands-on experience of lean manufacturing 

  • Experience with various manufacturing processes and components  

  • An understanding of relevant manufacturing processes and documentation 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills  

  • Experience in component and equipment cost estimating 

  • Experience in MES and vision systems preferred  

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) 

  • Strong interpersonal skills  

  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally regularly
