Our client is on a mission to create the future of powertrains. They work on the full lifecycle from strategic planning to testing powertrain and electrification technologies. They have got a rich history in the automotive space, working with major vehicle OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to optimise their products. Working towards a more sustainable future, they are operating in the electrification space to advance the development of new, more sustainable technologies.

The role
This position will include the design of casings to integrate mechanical, electrical and thermal subsystems. System simulation and analysis will be required in the following areas: thermal, structural, efficiency and NVH. The role involves operating in a dynamic project environment including technical, commercial and customer management. 

Other responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a lead change agent, able to channel resources effectively 

  • Delivering projects on time and on budget 

  • Ensuring rapid responses to customer queries 

  • Maintaining operational excellence for the customer base

  • Presenting data to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Creating technical project proposals and resourcing estimates 
     

The requirements

You will have 8+ years of experience in the design of casings, housings and enclosures and the associated materials and manufacturing methods, as well as…

  • High-level knowledge of the design and CAE analysis of rotating systems

  • Experience in applying fundamental mechanical engineering principles to complex problems 

  • Experience in the design of e-motors and/or power electronics, as well as 1D/3D thermal analysis, is desirable 

  • Innovative and enjoys resolving challenges  

  • Analytical, logical and detail-orientated 

  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment 

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) 

  • Strong technical reputation with a network of customer and supplier contacts
