The role 

As Engineering Manager Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), you will perform a variety of complex duties and tasks to implement PLM for the Company’s vehicle programs. You will be responsible for the support of design life cycle changes affecting Engineering, Production and Service.  

You will manage, mentor, and develop a team of engineers providing leadership and guidance and regularly set and review goals for individuals within the team.  

Responsibilities include: 

  • Managing the release of the digital mock-up unit within the PDM system 

  • Analysing, maintaining, and upgrading CAD and PLM applications and processes 

  • Working with Operations, Engineering, and other departments 

  • Providing strategic direction for the development of PLM 

  • Creating and maintaining PLM user documentation and process maps 

  • Designing and conducting regular training for employees and suppliers 

  • Applying PLM best practises to the continuous improvement processes 

  • Creating training documents to communicate PLM process and standards 

  • Defining and improving data quality and integrity requirements 

  • Preparing and maintaining BOM’s and associated meta data 

  • Assisting with recruiting and building an effective engineering team  


The requirements 

You must have least 10 years of PLM, PDM, CAD within an automotive environment, as well as… 

  • Bachelor or higher in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent 

  • At least 5 years management experience 

  • Specific knowledge with Teamcenter lifecycle management software 

  • Prior experience with Solidworks and NX cad data management  

  • Excellent computer literacy skills (including Microsoft Office) 

  • Initiative to develop and implement process improvements 

  • Results orientated with good people management skills   

  • Track record of leaderships and coaching skills 

  • Innovative and creative mindset  

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Abides by Health and Safety standards
