Do you have experience of selling into pharmaceutical or cosmetic providers? Are you looking for the next step in your career? We are currently supporting an incredibly well-respected, market-leading microbiology device company that is looking for a National Account Manager. 

The company 

Our client is a dominant market leader in providing solutions that improve medical discovery, diagnostics and delivery of patient care. Their core focus is on making sure healthcare professionals, pharmaceutical providers and industry partners have the innovative technologies to help advance clinical therapies for patients, clinical process and workflow. ? 

The role 

As a National Account Manager you will be responsible for sales and segment development of the Industrial Microbiology portfolio across the UK. This is a field-based role that operates nationally, so will require national travel with occasional international travel to Europe. 

The core area of focus will be on nurturing established key accounts alongside building strong networks across the pharmaceutical, research and cosmetic markets.  


Responsibilities include: 

  • Achieving sales objectives and growth within the region 

  • Driving category share 

  • Owning and being accountable for all activity within your territory 

  • Selling and securing orders from both existing and new customers 

  • Operating in a customer-centric manner 

  • Working with the manager to execute strategies and tactics to deliver growth and market share gains 

  • Providing after-sales service 

  • Working with the Customer Service team in managing accounts  

  • Working closely with other internal functions, including European teams 

  • Contributing to the implementation and analysis of a strategic plan for the territory 



The requirements 

You will have over 3 years of sales experience, ideally with a pharmaceutical/microbiology background, as well as: 

  • Experience in developing new business 

  • Experience supplying products or services to stakeholders in the UK pharmaceutical/biotech market 

  • Strong ability to network and maintain long-term relationships with customers
