Are you an engineer with expertise in Automotive Plant Modelling and Simulation? Our client is looking for a Modelling & Simulation Control Software Engineer to join their Team in Leicestershire.

The role 

As a Modelling & Simulation Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the development of Matlab Simulink plant models and simulations supporting customer facing features. You also will create specifications and MIL/SIL/HIL model integration. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Developing and maintaining modelling environments (plant models and simulation) 

  • Adhering to our clients’ modelling guidelines and best practice 

  • Developing processes to support production programmes 

  • Reviewing software requirements and logical architectures and software solutions 

  • Maintaining traceability of model content in the MBSE tools 

  • Supporting the integration of models in to rig environments 

  • Supporting planning activities with manufacturing departments  

  • Developing and peer reviewing technical reports 

  • Assisting with duties as required by your manager 

The requirements 

You’ll have a strong background in Automotive controls-based simulation. Other requirements include: 

  • BEng or MEng in Automotive Engineering or Control Systems Engineering  

  • High proficiency in Matlab Simulink, Simscape, and debugging on target hardware 

  • Understanding of full V-Cycle activities 

  • Proficient in systems modelling, plant modelling and simulation 

  • In depth knowledge of in vehicle communication systems (CAN/LIN) 

  • Experience working in a Tier 1 or OEM automotive environment  

  • Experience of working with safety-critical systems to ISO26262 

  • Knowledge and experience of PREEvision is desirable  

  • Excellent computer literacy skills (MS Office) 

  • Self-motivated, resilient, flexible, and adaptable  

  • Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines 

  • Logical approach to problem solving  

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Flexible and willing to undertake UK and overseas travel as required
