FMC Meditech are working in partnership with the UK's leading distributor in ophthalmology. They are a dominant provider of high-quality diagnostic & surgical systems and consumables which are sold into the NHS, private clinics and more. This exciting opportunity in marketing will be crucial to their continued success as a team and brand.

The role

They are seeking to onboard an ambitious and determined Marketing Manager as maternity cover to join their talented marketing team and lead on product marketing in addition to their corporate marketing strategy. You will be hands on with designing and managing campaigns with the goal of the business increase their market share and positively impact profitability. An overview of responsibilities includes:

• Make informed decision using robust ad proven market intelligence
• Design and implement effective launch strategies
• Manage marketing programs to help impact sales including the use of conceptual selling techniques
• Work closely with the sales teams to ensure a strong relationship with marketing
• Keep training resources updated for the sales teams and other users
• Brand management and development
• Portfolio management to identify potential product gaps
• Collaborate across the group to ensure effective product management
• Brand positioning following a restructure early in 2020
• Create individual product market plans
• Communicate and sustain relationships with suppliers

The requirements

You will ideally possess a University degree in Business or Marketing in addition to:

  • Possess a demonstrable background in marketing for the ophthalmic market
  • The ability to work collaboratively and effectively with sales and marketing teams across the group
  • A self-starter who is proactive, can efficiently manage their time and hold themselves accountable for their work
  • You will ideally be a commercial marketeer who can sniff out opportunities to impact the bottom line and be able to operate successfully in a competitive market
  • Knowledge of conceptual selling techniques is highly desirable
  • An organised individual who is superb at planning with a good understanding of the sales process and how you can impact this through marketing led initiatives
