A market-leading meditech company is currently looking for a Manufacturing Lead to drive manufacturing, best practice, and operational excellence on site. You’ll be responsible for driving the vision of the company forward.

Our client are a global leading medical device and technologies company who manufacture market innovative medical products focused on therapies for the management of chronic conditions. They work across four markets – advanced chronic and acute wound care, ostomy care, continence and critical care and infusion devices used in the treatment of diabetes and other conditions.

 

They are focused on sustainable performance and continuously strive for an innovative, excellent portfolio of products.

 

The role

As Manufacturing Lead you’ll be a key part of the management and leadership of the manufacturing function. You’ll support and lead on safety and quality, productivity improvements and operational costs to meet business objectives and targets. One of your core focuses will be helping to drive the site towards being a ‘factory of the future’!

 

This is an integral role in the manufacturing division of our client’s business and the effective management and leadership of the environment. In this role you’ll play a key part in driving the company’s manufacturing operations towards their vision for the future and developing a motivated and flexible team.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Leadership of manufacturing team for site manufacturing operations
  • Prioritising manufacturing activity based on production demands
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of manufacturing facilities, including labour planning and coordination
  • Managing and developing a high-performing manufacturing team
  • Managing production within the manufacturing sites
  • Meeting set targets
  • Reporting on requirements for safety, quality, delivery and cost
  • Designing and implementing best practice and processes to improve operational performance
  • Driving a culture of continuous improvement
  • Developing and managing department budgets
  • Undertaking root cause analysis to push data driven results
  • Contributing to new business initiatives and reviewing these

 

 

The requirements

You’ll have extensive experience in a plant/engineering environment, as well as:

 

  • BSc/MSc in a Manufacturing or Engineering discipline (or an equivalent professional qualification)
  • Six sigma Green belt
  • Proven track record in leadership and management
  • Extensive plant level experience
  • Demonstrable previous experience in a complex manufacturing background
  • Proven experience managing technology transformation projects
  • Experience implementing lean manufacturing techniques
  • Understanding of environmental and safety issues/regulations
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to build strong working relationships
  • Experience developing a team and able to coach and lead manufacturing personnel/labour
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of working in manufacturing in a regulated industry
