Our client are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join their team and be involved in the full development lifecycle of exciting new software solutions for motorsports and other high-performance environments.

Our client is a leading engineering consultancy, providing the highest level of value-add to multiple motorsports environments and high-performance environments. 

The role 

In this role you’ll be joining an exciting new function design to increase innovation. The main focus of this role is to develop innovative software solutions for motorsports environments, and you’ll be involved in the full development lifecycle from initial design and analysis, to testing, to deployment, to debugging, and everything in between. These solutions are designed with accuracy and decision making in mind, and in this role you’ll be a core part of this. 
Other responsibilities include: 

• Being involved in the full development lifecycle 

• Taking ownership of and leading on assigned projects 

• Ensuring projects are completed on time and to allocated budget 

• Estimating project timescales and providing progress reports 

• Capturing project requirements 

• Defining project specifications 

• Architecting testable and scalable software solutions 

• Working collaboratively to drive forward innovation and best practice 

• Analysing technical challenges and coming up with solutions 

• Keeping up to date with the latest in software development 

 
The requirements 

You’ll have a strong track record in an aligned role, and experience with at least one backend language (used in a commercial setting), ideally C#, .NET, or Python. Other requirements include:  

• Proficiency with backend languages 

• Familiarity with using these in a commercial setting 

• Experience with frontend technologies, including JavaScript, TypeScript, React and CSS 

• Experience building maintainable codebases using SOLID principles and design 

• Experience with SQL and document databases 

• Experience developing and optimising web-based tools 

• Passionate about software engineering and the new developments in the space 

• Open minded and able to think laterally 

• Strong problem solving skills and a highly analytical approach 

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
