A unique company offering revolutionary cooling technologies are looking for a Lead Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in South London.

The role 

As a Lead Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll be responsible for executing tasks relating to design, development, prototyping, and testing of electrical distribution systems for the client’s state of the art technology. You’ll mainly be focused on designing electrical harness systems, including voltage systems, prototypes, and circuit boards and support our clients’ R&D activities.  

Responsibilities include: 

  • Designing, developing, prototyping, and testing electrical distribution systems 

  • Working with high and low voltage systems, circuit boards, and mule prototypes 

  • Working in ECAD environment 

  • Liaising with other stakeholders, including prototype and production harness suppliers 

  • Working with other teams within the business to ensure designs meet timing, performance, and cost requirements 

  • Supporting research and development activities 

  • Supporting the development of tools  

  • Identifying process and method gaps for continuous improvement  


The requirements 

You will have at least 4+ years’ experience in designing electrical schematics, as well as… 

  • Graduate or Post Graduate Degree in mechatronic, electronics, or electrical engineering 

  • Expert knowledge in Electrical Design 

  • Experience in designing technical drawings  

  • Proficient in Control System Design  

  • Practical knowledge of ECAD  

  • History of working in a multidiscipline engineering environment desirable 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Background in niche or motorsport engineering and an understanding of vehicle systems desirable but not essential 

  • Able to design, create and test prototype wiring harnesses 

  • Detail oriented, practical, and strong time management skills  

  • A hands-on approach and comfortable in the design office and workshop  

  • Comfortable with UK and occasional overseas travel
