FMC Smart Industry are currently partnering with a leading supplier of Quality Management Systems who are currently looking for a Junior Quality Assurance Engineer to join their team and ensure product quality through manual and automated testing.

The role

As Junior QA Engineer you’ll develop and implement manual and automated testing with the aim on ensuring product quality. You’ll be monitoring software development and ensuring that system malfunctions are resolved. This is a key role in our client’s product development process, as you’ll make sure that their software solutions always run smoothly and meet the needs of their customers.

Responsibilities include:

• Monitoring and developing manual and automated testing
• Recording testing results and documenting test cases
• Coding and creating test plans
• Developing processes to determine product quality
• Fault-finding and identifying software bugs
• Tracking and isolating bugs through testing
• Performing regression testing when bugs are resolved
• Reviewing user interfaces to ensure functionality

The requirements

You’ll have a background in software quality assurance or software development. Other requirements include:

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or a related subject
• At least 2 years’ experience in software development/QA
• Knowledge of software QA tools, methodologies, and procceses
• Experience writing test plans and cases
• Experience with both manual and automated test tools
• Knowledge of relational databases and scripting
• Track record of testing web applications
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to self-manage tasks
• Previous experience working in a start-up environment desired
