We are currently recruiting for a market-leading ophthalmology company who are focused on implementing innovative optical technologies into their specialist range of surgical equipment. They are currently looking for a IOL Specialist for the Southern part of the UK.

The company

Our client is a well-respected brand in the surgical ophthalmology field who aim to provide high-quality products with performance and precision. This is an exciting time to be joining, they have strong growth projections alongside new products being launched into the market as well as the development of their existing portfolio.

The role

This is a brilliant opportunity to take a new IOL product to the UK market. Our client is seeking an experience sales specialist who has experience with premium IOLs. You’ll be responsible for the sales of Monofocal and Premium IOLs across your territory and will be working closely with the sales and marketing teams to grow and develop the business in the area.


Responsibilities include:

  • Being responsible for the sales of Monofocal and Premium IOLs
  • Developing a regional sales plan for the product portfolio, aligned with the wider business strategy
  • Taking ownership of customer management including complaints and questions, handling these professionally
  • Planning and organising sales activities
  • Helping the UK sales team to promote the IOL range
  • Providing input into business planning and sales strategies
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key customers
  • Working in a theatre environment to liaise with surgeons and other theatre staff
  • Gaining an in-depth knowledge of the product portfolio as well as of ophthalmic surgery
  • Assisting sales representatives in the building of business cases


The requirements

You will live within the desired territory, as well as having the following:

  • Previous experience in an IOL sales position
  • Theatre experience strongly desirable
  • Ideally educated to degree level in a relevant subject
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Excellent planning and organisation
  • Strong knowledge of the NHS and human anatomy and physiology
