Job description

FMC are currently supporting an innovative and widely recognised British brand to expand their diverse technology portfolio into the Electric Vehicle spectrum. The next phase in their pioneering technology journey requires the skills and talent of the following individual.

The role

Our client is seeking an inverter & charge technician to be responsible for day to day maintenance tasks to keep test beds operational, this can include calibration and minor fault fixing with test engineers. This individual will also be responsible for:

  • Operating inverter and charger testbeds to carry out pre-defined tests
  • Hands-on swap over of inverters and chargers on testbeds
  • Liaising with prototype build teams to coordinate inverter and charger movements on and off testbeds
  • Liaising with inverter and charger engineers on test scheduling


The requirements

You will need to demonstrate the following:

  • HND in Engineering (NVQ Level 4 or equivalent is beneficial but not essential)
  • Competent with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) for simple reporting and recording
  • Strong team working skills, to work with testbed engineers and design engineers
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently, take on new challenges readily and possess a hands-on approach.
  • Experience of AVL inverter testbed operation is beneficial but not essential Experience of charger analysis and simulation tools is beneficial but not essential
  • Electric vehicle powertrain test experience is beneficial but not essential
  • Experience of automotive high voltage safety is beneficial but not essential
