This is a fantastic opportunity to join our client who are creating the future of sustainable travel. They are currently looking for a HVAC Engineer to join their team. 

The company 

Our client design, manufacture and sell advanced single and double deck buses within the automotive market. They have developed a range of low-carbon buses with optimised drive systems, setting the benchmark for fuel economy and CO2 reduction. Their lightweight engineering, premium service and low running costs all contribute to these advanced passenger vehicles designed for a global market. 


The role 

As HVAC Engineer, you’ll be involved in the application and integration of HVAC systems and components across a range of platforms and applications. This is a fantastic opportunity to join their mission to create the future of sustainable travel by working on the technologies that form part of them.
Responsibilities include: 

  • Working on the application and integration of HVAC systems and components 

  • Supporting concept selections and adherence to design standards 

  • Looking after CAD activities within the HVAC team 

  • Using quality history reviews and design modes in new designs 

  • Ensuring CAD designs meet manufacture and service requirements 

  • Identifying opportunities for improving efficiencies 

  • Providing technical support for development issues 

  • Undertaking root cause analysis 

  • Creating and presenting technical reports 

  • Coordinating and participating in design reviews 


The requirements 

You’ll have at least 5 years’ experience working with cooling systems at component and systems level and will have experience in the automotive or commercial vehicle industries. Other requirements include: 

  • Degree-level education in an engineering field (ideally Automotive, Mechanical or Electrical) 

  • Experience working on driveline systems 

  • Experience with and knowledge of vehicle electrification 

  • Strong HVAC experience 

  • Strong root cause analysis skills 

  • Experience with new product development 

  • Able to provide balanced solutions for technical decision making 

  • Able to present technical material to a range of audiences 

  • Confident working in a start-up environment 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
