Our client is always moving forwards and evolving, and this role as HR Director will be instrumental to this growth.    

The company 

Our client is a global engineering and manufacturing firm with over 115 years’ experience. They are a Tier 1 supplier focused on the development and production of high value, lower volume rubber/polymer-based products for a variety of industries including automotive, aerospace, medical and defence markets globally. Backed by a major rubber manufacturer, this role will play a key part in further growth of the organisation and with this part of the business expecting to grow the most. 

The role 

As HR Director, you will be responsible for leading and directing Human Resources and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). You will develop, lead, and implement the HR strategy that delivers world class standards of excellence.   

Other responsibilities include: 

  • Providing responsive, flexible, and high performing resource that proactively supports the business agenda 

  • Leading change and successfully integrating and aligning business change programs  

  • Acting as a key member of the SLT, providing expertise, challenge, and advice to the board 

  • Developing the people strategy that drives business performance 

  • Creating a culture where people grow, deliver, and develop within the business 

  • Ensuring that talent management, succession planning, and career development is best practice 

  • Evaluating the current organisational design to optimise performance and efficiency  

  • Collaborating with other business units as required  


The requirements 

The successful candidate will either have operated at SLT level or will have the skills and competence required. Other requirements include: 

  • Degree level educated, MBA would be preferable  

  • Proven ability to influence, motivate, and negotiate at all levels 

  • Able to communicate across stakeholders to gain buy-in, change thinking, and drive collaboration 

  • Strong analytical skills and able to assess situations, step back and provide considered advice 

  • Strategic thinker and hands on approach 

  • Interested in continued personal development for self and others 

  • Strong work ethic, energy and results orientated 

  • Able to create positive, can-do, environment  
    Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills  

  • Ideally broader business exposure outside HR
