Do you want to help accelerate the transition to a zero-carbon future? Our client is looking for a Head of Research & Materials to join their team in Warwickshire.  

The company 

Our client is dedicated to supporting the future of electrification, producing world-leading lithium-ion battery technologies. They continue to work with leading suppliers and aim to establish the UK as the leading force in battery technology.  

 

The role 

This is a new role created to help drive key areas of material research and development with regards to Lithium-Ion and alternative battery material technology. 

Responsibilities include:  

  • Planning and delivering innovative activities  

  • Identifying new science and technology opportunities 

  • Supporting the development of battery materials 

  • Supporting collaborative research programmes  

  • Providing technical support to cell products through to production 

  • Helping to recruit and support a team of research engineers 

  • Planning and executing product and process development  

The requirements 

You will have an extensive experience of battery materials chemistry, battery electrochemistry, materials and cell characterization and analysis, as well as… 

  • A Masters or Doctorate in a related subject (Science/Chemistry/Materials)  

  • Significant experience in a Technical Project Lead, or Researcher role 

  • Able to run multiple Research and Development programs 

  • Able to lead a team of scientists and research engineers 

  • Proven negotiation and interpersonal skills  

  • High level of experience in analysing, reporting, and presenting 

  • Ideally based close to Coventry
