Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Head of Programmes to join their team based in Northamptonshire. This is an exciting opportunity to work with some of the biggest names in motorsport.  

 
The company 

Our client has arguably one of the most well-known names in the industry. Their technical capability enables them to support high-performance, niche automotive and motorsports programmes. 

 
The role 
As a Head of Programmes, you will manage the Project Management Group ensuring day-to-day activity priorities are set and projects are delivered. You will ensure all programmes have uniform detailed plans and align with Business Performance KPIs. You will support the team by supporting their personal and professional development through appraisals and follow-up actions.  

Other responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining generic project resource 

  • Ensuring ongoing programmes are understood 

  • Flagging issues with programme, budget, timing, or milestones where applicable  

  • Supporting Business Development on project quotations and plan proposals 

  • Developing staff and tools to support the implementation of business expansion strategy  

  • Working in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 
     

The requirements 

You must have experience in programme management and the management of a small team, as well as…

  • Experience leading delivery and integration 

  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity to pilot new business initiatives  

  • Strong track record of delivering process development and transformation projects with problem-solving skills 

  • Experienced at building effective cross-functional relationships with strong stakeholder management skills at all levels 

  • Evidence of leadership skills  

  • Ability to drive positive business outcomes  

Desirable  

  • Formal Project Management qualification e.g., PRINCE 

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience  

  • Experienced in interfacing with core engineering functions 

  • An understanding of the Agile mindset and approaches 

  • Experienced with cycle plan, portfolio, and complexity management
