Do you have excellent technical and leadership capabilities? Our client is currently looking for a Head of Process Engineering to join their team in Newcastle. 

 

The company 

Our client is dedicated to supporting the future of electrification, producing world-leading lithium-ion battery technologies. They continue to work with leading suppliers and aim to establish the UK as the leading force in battery technology. 

 

The role 

As a Head of Process Engineering, you will act as the key driver in process innovation by designing a manufacturing process that will achieve operational excellence. You will build and direct a technical team that is responsible for defining, implementing and continuously improving our client’s technologies. 

Other responsibilities include: 

  • Being at the forefront of advanced manufacturing techniques with the latest equipment 

  • Leading and providing technical guidance to the engineers in front-end cell manufacturing

  • Supporting the production of equipment set-up and process improvements 

  • Defining a clear and robust business model 

  • Designing, implementing, and refining processes 

  • Driving effect decision making through data analytics 

  • Collaborating with other functional teams to drive through product development plans 

  • Maintaining strong relationships with third parties, suppliers and technical institutes 

  • Delivering projects on time and to budget 

  • Providing reports to Executive management 

 

The requirements 

You’ll have extensive experience in rechargeable battery manufacturing or a similar field, as well as: 

  • Degree level educated in Engineering, including chemical, electro-chemical, manufacturing and mechanical 

  • Experience in the automotive and machinery spaces are desirable 

  • Demonstrable track record in international business leadership 

  • Excellent knowledge of production systems and continuous improvement practices 

  • Strong understanding of the utilisation of data to support measurable improvements

  • Awareness and experience of business operations and business strategy

  • Detail orientated and analytical 

  • Logical and able to problem-solve 

  • Innovative and curious 

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)  

  • Strong motivation, flexibility, and personal commitment
