FMC are currently recruiting for an well-experienced, quality focused and driven individual to join my exciting client at their Head Office in Cambridge as Head of Manufacturing. I am currently representing one of the UK’s most innovative companies to be joining right now, recognised as a world-class medical devices company within the futuristic industry of surgical robotics.
I am looking for an experienced, motivating and inspiring individual to lead and guide my client's growing Manufacturing and Production teams. You will be leading these teams and have a genuine passion about manufacturing and working to priority objections and quality goals; ensuring smooth and efficient running of the manufacturing engineering and manufacturing operations functions for the business as they scale the business globally.
What you'll be doing…
You’ll be an integral part of the higher management team providing direction for the business' manufacturing engineering and manufacturing operations and coordination with the supply chain, quality, R&D and service teams.
Some of your main responsibilities would include:
• Oversee the planning and management of the day-to-day running of the production line;
• Run the management of projects running within manufacturing engineering;
• Be accountable and manage a large multifunction-team to budget;
• Bring world class, best practise, principles to the running the team through your demonstrated experience to date;
• Bring LEAN processes to the line and drive down bureaucratic practises;
• Establish visualisation of the line and KPI reporting on a weekly basis holding your team accountable at all levels;
• Scale up the manufacturing facility and consider alternative locations and geographies for the business globally.
Sounds great, right? But do you have what it takes…
You’ll be a forward thinker with strong industry knowledge from industrial robotics, medical robotics, aerospace or automation, with the ability to identify, integrate, and act upon strategic information and changes within the manufacturing and production functions.
You will have or have had significant experience of assembly processes for high value, low volume production, with experience of operating at a senior management level in a highly regulated manufacturing environment of complex electromechanical devices, preferably in the medical devices sector with experience of ISO 13485 certification and FDA GMP.
Other key skills would be:
Preferred qualifications: An honours degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience combined with a successful track record of manufacturing in a high-tech, high quality environment.
