Do you have a background in software sales within the Automotive sector and want to progress your career further? Are you ready to generate new ideas and push existing boundaries? Our client is currently looking for someone to join their team as Head of Business Development within their Software and Virtual Testing portfolio.  


The company 

With over 70 years of experience, our client provides expertise in the electrification portfolio, in engineering and simulation as well as testing and the adoption of ADAS. They are committed to improving the performance of traditional powertrains and helping OEMs develop zero-impact emission mobility solutions. They continue to gather new and valuable insights from data intelligence to develop engineers, same time and reduce costs.  


The role 

As Head of Business Development, you will be responsible for growth within the company’s product portfolio. Your main duties will be engaging with the UK transportation community and selling software solutions into new and existing markets.  

Responsibilities include: 

  • Maintaining and growing business in the territory  

  • Growing the customer base and market presence in line with targets 

  • Monitoring progress of regional goals and providing feedback 

  • Managing the team within the UK office  

  • Ensuring company targets are met  

  • Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders 

  • Work in accordance to processes and safety requirements 

  • Keeping up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies  


The requirements 

You’ll have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a technical, consultative software sales role in the automotive industry. Other requirements include: 

  • Degree in Engineering or a relevant subject 

  • Experience operating in a startup business 

  • Understanding of taking a new solution to the market 

  • Prior knowledge of breaking the product into a new territory   

  • Proven experience influencing and progressing opportunities to a success outcome 

  • Outstanding knowledge of the industry 

  • Evidence of a software development background 

  • Passionate about EV 

  • Understanding of the automotive industry standards and regulations 

  • Strong attitude to take risks and responsibilities  

  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) 

  • Strong leadership skills 

  • Able to define strategy and solutions  

  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
