The Aftermarket and Consumables Supply Chain sustainability and security is essential for the future
and the sourcing strategies need to reflect this. Financially these have the largest impact on the
business and further development is required as the business develops different product offerings and solutions. This will include engaging and working alongside aftermarket and channels as the business develops.
Required to work closely with the Group Sourcing Director you will have strong management skills
and communication skills and be confident, resilient and accountable to drive through strategy and
Design sourcing strategies that deliver long-term goals and short-term objectives for
Purchasing and Development teams across the group.
? Drive sourcing projects and improvement programmes to ensure that sourcing solutions are
implemented to achieve the groups aspirations in terms of technology, resources, capability
? Identify and develop new sources where required. Ensure that new sources at all locations
meet Group selection criteria and that best possible pricing and contractual terms are
obtained for local and export requirements.
? Provide leadership in sourcing, purchasing and supplier management best practice. Define
best practice and minimum standards for all sourcing and key purchasing processes
and ensure all sites understand minimum requirements and have the skills to deploy them.
Research emerging trends and techniques in sourcing and purchasing practice and drive the
adoption of appropriate practices to refine and deliver strategic objectives.
? Implement optimum contractual Terms and Conditions for a diverse range of supplier
relationships, including Third Party Product procurement.
? Establish targets and measures for sourcing projects and improvement programmes, including
the demonstration of supplier, product and process capability in the shortest possible
Hopefully, amongst a desire to better yourself and your skills, you should have these qualities:
- A HNC, equivalent, or above within a technical/scientific discipline
- Exposure to a similar environment
- Experience in a sourcing role within an engineering environment
- Previously operating in a supplier-facing/sourcing/procurement position
- Showing commercial awareness and ability to plan, manage and strategise
- An engaging and determined personality matched by leadership qualities and traits
