We are representing an industry-leading consultancy company that specialises in developing breakthrough engineering and electrical proposition systems. This division specialises in taking complex and evolving software, control and calibration challenges and providing unique solutions to meet the demands for future transportation. 

The role

As the Global Head of Software, you will lead and direct the embedded software team and take complex and evolving software and provide unique, advanced, and cost-effective solutions. You will overcome control and calibration challenges and ensure desirable, robust, and compliant products reach the market.  

Other responsibilities include:

• Balancing workload across the team 

• Holding regular team meetings, identifying training and development needs 

• Building a supplier network to provide resources for projects when required 

• Ensuring all deliverables are completed in a cost-effective and timely manner 

• Developing Global working processes and toolchains 

• Maintaining awareness of the latest technology and industry trends 

The requirements

You’ll have a depth of experience in the development of high-integrity safety-critical software, as well as:

• Degree educated in a relevant scientific, technical, or engineering subject

• Highly capable in technical project leadership, program, and team management  

• Experience working towards safety standards (ISO 26262) and using structured processes (ASPICE) 

• Proven experience in developing and implementing strategies to advance Embedded Software technology 

• Understanding of global industry standards and trends 

• Demonstrable passion for technology, engineering, and customer delivery  

• Able to pull together the company’s vision  

• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) 

• An analytical and strategic thinker and able to develop and present balanced insight  

• Hyper-organised and able to plan and deliver independently   

• Flexible and willing to travel overseas
