Are you motivated by better patient outcomes? Do you want to lead product discovery, development, and management in the rapidly growing surgical robotics space? Our client is looking for a Global Head of Digital Surgery and Data to join their team in Cambridge.  

The company 

Our client is a disruptive player in the rapidly growing surgical robotics space. They produce state-of-the art robotics for the minimally invasive surgery that are set to change the face of surgery forever. They have a close-knit and family-orientated culture, and they are passionate about finding people that will fit in with their mission to make the next generation of surgical robot. Their robot will improve patient care and have a significant impact on the healthcare market, from surgeons to patients alike.  

The role 

Our client has spotted an opportunity to deliver additional data and insight tools in combination with their hardware products. Initially this will be to capture surgical insights, machine learning and data points that can refine and steer the product suite and improve customer experience. The tools may develop into SaaS products that have commercial value to the business and offer customers and surgeons operating in this space insight that will hopefully deliver better patient outcomes.  

As the Global Head and Surgical Data Product Leader, you will build a team from scratch to 35+ to support their rapidly growing global customer base. You will focus on designing, developing, and operationalising the software tools, apps, services that will enable this vision. You will be the expert and sponsor for surgical data products internally and externally and have experience in product management, team leadership and ideally data insight development in a medical device or healthcare environment.  

Responsibilities include: 

  • Developing software applications and services that deliver meaningful insights  

  • Building teams and a product roadmaps  

  • Innovating new product ideas and developments  

  • Collaborating cross functionally to maximize scope and advantage of data insights  

  • Driving the development, integration, and support of the tools  


The requirements 

You will have been a senior leader with experience of software tools and application development that drive insights within a medical devices company. We would also like to see…  

  • Experience of hiring and developing a new team 

  • Background in developing and commercializing medical data insight products  

  • Knowledge and understanding of SaaS 

  • Comfortable with digital data product development  

  • Strong leader, coach, and mentor 

  • Understanding of digital services, data governance and digital insights 

  • Experience of machine learning and or AI  

  • Commercial acumen and excellent customer service skills 

  • Surgical intelligence background highly desirable
