The role

As a Functional Safety Software Consultant, you will join a vital team of engineers delivering functional safety and systems engineering expertise to ensure the smooth operation of internal and external projects. You’ll bring your experience to provide consultancy, analysis and training to a broad base of customers and projects, from global manufacturers to part-level suppliers. 

Other responsibilities include:

• Defining clear and robust project approach processes

• Driving continuous improvement initiatives

• Forming and maintaining relationships with a variety of stakeholders

• Identifying the needs of clients and translating these into actionable projects

• Ensuring operational excellence for the customer base

• Owning technical engagements to ensure successful delivery of projects

• Conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders 

The requirements

You’ll have experience in coordinating and delivering ISO 26262 Part 6 software engineering activities, as well as: 

• Degree educated in Software/Systems Engineering or another relevant discipline 

• Experience developing a process to support functional safety in a software development environment 

• Track record in a technical project management role 

• Experience delivering value-add functional safety consultancy/guidance 

• Self-starter who is highly analytical and organised 

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with customers

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) 

• Flexible and willing to travel
