Want to play a part in the development of cutting-edge automotive technologies? Do you have at least 10 years of functional safety experience working to ISO 26262? An exciting start-up who produces and develop innovative software solutions for autonomous and electric vehicles is currently looking for a Functional Safety Manager to join their close-knit team.

Specialising in electric and autonomous vehicle technologies, our client is a visionary start-up developing and producing innovative software products and solutions for state-of-the-art vehicles, ranging from Battery Management Solutions to Automated Driving Assistance Systems. Working with innovative technologies such as AI and machine learning to ensure accurate data for BMS, ADAS and other automotive technologies, they are passionate about enabling seamless testing processes, developing state-of-the-art technologies, and ensuring data reliability. The role 

As Functional Safety Manager you’ll be focused on managing the speed and effectiveness of new product introduction and ensuring their compliance with quality regulations. You will work within all areas of design, verification, and implementation for safety critical applications within ADAS. You’ll work closely with the customer and design teams to ensure requirements are met.  

Responsibilities include: 

  • Support the introduction of new products to market 

  • Driving innovation and introducing new ideas 

  • Investigating and resolving safety issues 

  • Ensuring continuous process improvement 

  • Build and negotiate relationships with both internal and external stakeholders 

  • Acting as representative for product and process changes and validation protocols 

  • Undertaking internal and external audits 

  • Directly addressing any safety issues 

  • Working in accordance to processes and safety requirements 

The requirements 

You will have at least 10 years of functional safety experience working to ISO 26262, as well as… 

  • Degree level educated in a relevant discipline 

  • Able to investigate complex issues and solve problems 

  • Industry Experience of HARA, DFMEA, FTA for embedded software  

  • Proven experience of ASPICE 

  • Strong analytical skills 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Good people management skills and a track record of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team 

  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as being self-motivated to work independently  

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail 

  • Ambitious, with a passion for continuous improvement
