Our client has a rich heritage in the development of iconic and exclusive sports car models and is looking for a Functional Safety Engineer – Expert Level to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a hands-on, dynamic environment with automotive technology that is paving the way for hybrid and electric vehicles. The role As a Functional Safety Engineer – Expert Level, you will be central to driving the operational excellence of an exciting variety of luxury, front-line automotive technologies throughout their development. You’ll bring a key eye for detail in order to develop robust project approach processes, mitigate hazards and risks through data analysis and identify skills gaps to stimulate changes across cross-functional teams. Responsibilities include: - Leading and performing product development
- Delivering projects on time and to budget
- Forming and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders
- Identifying the needs of clients and translating these into actionable projects
- Owning technical engagements to ensure successful delivery of projects
- Conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders
- Developing and maintaining technical documentation
The requirements To be successful in this role you will have strong (5+ years’) experience of the Functional Safety, Electronics, Electrical or Systems engineering domains, or a track record as a software architect. Other requirements include: - Degree educated in a relevant Engineering discipline (or equivalent work experience)
- Strong understanding of controllability of vehicles and vehicle dynamics
- Familiar with in-vehicle networks and protocols
- Well versed in ISO 26262 SOTIF and safety related systems
- Background of automotive software and feature delivery
- Excellent information-gathering gathering skills and data analysis
- Able to confidently undertake the product development cycle
- Highly organised with experience in delivering projects in a time-dependent, high-pressure environment
- Driven team player and able to collaborate cross-functionally
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
