The role

As a Functional Safety Consultant, you will be a key player in delivering our client’s functional safety engineering services across the whole vehicle development cycle, from design to testing. Your knowledge, research, and input into the development of new functional safety services will be utilised to drive the operational excellence of an exciting variety of front-line technologies across a range of industries. 

Other responsibilities include:

• Defining clear and robust project approach processes

• Driving continuous improvement initiatives

• Forming and maintaining relationships with a variety of stakeholders

• Identifying the needs of clients and translating these into actionable projects

• Owning technical engagements to ensure successful delivery of projects

• Conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders 

The requirements

You’ll have experience in Delivering ISO 26262 to vehicle manufacturers and tier 1 suppliers covering all aspects of the safety lifecycle, as well as: 

• Degree educated in Electrical/Electronic or Systems Engineering, or another relevant discipline 

• Corporate membership of an engineering institution, including Chartered Engineer qualification (or working towards this) 

• Demonstrable experience in functional safety planning and management 

• High-level knowledge of safety analyses techniques with exposure to a broad range of processes, methodologies, and stakeholder objectives 

• Able to confidently lead small project teams 

• Experience of system-level architectural design and technical review 

• Self-starter who is highly analytical and organised 

• Outstanding information gathering and problem-solving skills 

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with customers

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

• Flexible and willing to travel
