Are you an experienced commercial accountant who can thrive in a hands-on, fast-paced environment? Our client is currently looking for an entrepreneurial Finance Director to join their leadership team. 

The company 

Our client provides an end-to-end nationwide distribution business. They’re continually introducing new and improved products and bringing some of the world’s most iconic parts to the utility market.

The role

As a Finance Director, you will provide a strategic direction for our client’s financial structure and overall business strategy. You’ll focus on implementing operational objectives and crafting a results-driven culture that will achieve year-on-year growth and contribute to the successful execution of long-range business plans. 

Other responsibilities include: 

• Being an active member of the leadership team

• Managing a finance team 

• Providing accurate forecasting and financial management 

• Maintaining strong relationships with internal and external auditors 

• Channelling resources effectively and delivering on performance targets 

• Generating strategy deployment processes and problem-solving techniques

• Producing budgets, reports and KPIs

• Aligning the business with relevant guidelines and regulations 

The requirements 

The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting, finance and control in a stand-alone entity. An ability to thrive in a dynamic and demanding environment, with experience working for an international group, is highly desirable for this role. Other requirements include: 

• Certified Accountant, ideally with ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification

• Proven ability to liaise with stakeholders, auditors and tax advisors 

• Experience within a manufacturing or logistics organisation is beneficial 

• A natural leader with excellent interpersonal skills 

• Eager to get involved in planning and implementing change 

• Organised and able to manage multiple activities 

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail 

• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, autonomous environment 

• Outstanding communication skills (both written and verbal) 

• Strong computer literacy (including Microsoft Office Suite)
