Do you want to work for a globally renowned test equipment manufacturer? Do you have experience working in an instrumentation service environment? Our client is a leading manufacturer of testing solutions across a huge range of industries and is currently looking for a Field Service Engineer to be responsible for delivering on-site support, from installations to maintenance. 
 

The company 

Established in 1946, our client is a global test equipment manufacturer who provide solutions across a wide spectrum of industries, from electronics to aerospace. They produce specialist testing machines to test the properties of materials and components in different environments. Their mission is to provide their customers with expert support and world-class service. 
 

The role 

In the role of Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering services such as installation, breakdown repair, maintenance, and calibration on a wide range of systems.  

Responsibilities include: 

  • Delivering onsite support for the client’s product range 

  • Ensuring service requests are dealt with on time and in a professional manner 

  • Arranging servicing schedules, dates, and requirements for all customers 

  • Submitting daily reports of all activities  

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and seek to improve this 

  • Contribute to reducing costs and increasing quality 

 

The requirements 

You will have experience within different environments including research laboratories and manufacturing plants, as well as: 

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic) 

  • Electrical, Chemical, Nuclear safety certifications 

  • Experience with mechanical, electrical & hydraulic components 

  • Experience with Calibration and Maintenance procedures 

  • Previous field-based experience desirable but not essential 

  • Strong mechanical aptitude 

  • Excellent customer service skills   

  • Strong computer literacy skills (including Microsoft Office suite)

  • Good organisational and presentation skills 

  • Strong communication skills with various audiences (both written and verbal) 

  • Strong team-working ability 

  • Full, clean UK driving license (travel required)
