Our client is looking for a Field Service Engineer to join their team in the Southwest UK.

Our client is focused on implementing innovative optical technologies into their range of high-value and high-tech capital equipment systems. They are a world-renowned German manufacturer with a reputation for delivering gold-standard technologies. 

 

The role 

As Field Service Engineer, you’ll provide technical services and support to customers and colleagues regarding our clients’ product portfolio and solutions. You will accurately diagnose and resolve technical issues relating to software applications, IT networks, servers, and cloud-based technologies. Other responsibilities include: 

  • Delivering remote service to diagnose and repair equipment 

  • Supporting the product lifecycle from site survey through to decommissioning 

  • Completing product and software modifications, updates and FCA’s  

  • Fulfilling customer requirements and expectations  

  • Developing an understanding of our clients’ product portfolio 

  • Communicating effectively and sharing knowledge with 2nd level support  

  • Managing the appropriate levels of stock  

  • Helping to achieve continual improvements in key service indicators 

The requirements 

  • A relevant electro-mechanical qualification  

  • Capable of diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues 

  • Able to build strong customer relationships  

  • Keen to learn, tech savvy and able to get your head around a new technology  

  • Strong technical skills across networking, IT, and digitisation  

  • Excellent communication skills at all levels (written and verbal)  

  • Able to manage a busy region independently  

  • Previous experience utilising a CRM system 

  • Flexible attitude, self-motivated and able to work under pressure 

  • Flexible and willing to travel and stay away  
     

Ideally located around the Bridgewater/Taunton. This role is based from home.
