The role

As a Field Service Engineer you’ll be responsible for installing and performing service and maintenance on our client’s state-of-the-art robotics system. You’ll work across Italy and will help surgical teams in clinical environments to get the very best out of their robot by keeping it in top condition. If you’ve got experience in a customer-facing role and know how to troubleshoot on electro-mechanical systems, this could be the role for you.


Responsibilities include:

  • Installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of the surgical robotic system
  • Carrying out preventative maintenance
  • Documenting service works
  • Owning customer issues from identification through to resolution
  • Providing technical support to clinical teams and internal teams
  • Maximising system uptime for best clinical value
  • Developing the technical support and service processes in France
  • Maintaining customer service logs and internal records
  • Managing spare parts inventory
  • Providing feedback to other internal teams about customer/service issues
  • Maintaining great customer satisfaction levels


The requirements

You will have a background in field service engineering and will be able to travel across Italy, as well as…

  • A relevant technical degree or practical experience in mechanical and electronic engineering
  • Based in Italy (ideally Rome/Naples area)
  • Experience in regulated medical environments
  • Experience in operating theatres and knowledge of protocol desirable
  • Experience servicing capital equipment (such as radiotherapy, imaging, robotics) desirable
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical systems
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to self-schedule tasks
  • Pro-active service mindset, focused on customer satisfaction
  • Able to perform mechanical component repair or replacement
  • Experience in electronics and able to perform software updates
  • Good written English
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office suite
  • Full driving license and able to travel at short notice
