Job description | Our client has a rich heritage in the development of iconic and exclusive sports car models and is looking for an Expert – HV Charging & Conversion to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a hands-on, dynamic environment with automotive technology that is paving the way for hybrid and electric vehicles. The role As an Expert – HV Charging & Conversion, you’ll drive the development of our client’s HV DCDC conversion and on-vehicle charging systems, from R&D to series production, and lead cross-functional teams to achieve quality, cost, weight and functionality targets. This role is highly technically focused – you’ll become a primary point of contact for key stakeholders throughout the product development process and guide the integration of HV and charging systems into vehicles and to the grid. Other responsibilities include: Leading regular design reviews of components and projects Conducting the testing and verification assemblies Identifying the root of development and quality issues and generating solutions Co-ordinating engineering changes and maintaining detailed design records Liaising with suppliers to ensure suitable technical specifications are met
Collaborating cross-functionally with other R&D departments Driving continuous improvement initiatives Working by processes and safety requirements Producing technical documentation and specifications Maintaining a high level of competitive intelligence
The requirements You’ll have a background in leading the development of charging strategies and profiles, as well as: Degree Educated in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering Proven experience of delivering HV DCDC converters and on-vehicle charging systems and integration for hybrid and/or electric vehicles
Experience of leading the entire cycle of DFMEA delivery at an OEM Practical experience working with LV and HV systems Strong understanding of their vehicle legislation and certification requirements Strategic thinker with outstanding data-gathering and problem solving skills Driven team player with experience of working across cross-functional teams
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) Able to produce clear and concise technical reports Able to take on challenges within a fast-paced, technical environment Passionate about the advancement of hybrid and electric powertrain technology Results-orientated and driven
