If you are a strong leader, communicator, and confident in a start-up environment this is an excellent opportunity to join our client as their Project Manager in the West Midlands or Northeast England.  

The company 

Our client design, manufacture and sell advanced single and double deck buses within the automotive market. They have developed a range of low-carbon buses with optimised drive systems, setting the benchmark for fuel economy and CO2 reduction. Their lightweight engineering, premium service and low running costs all contribute to these advanced passenger vehicles designed for a global market. 

The role 

As Project Manager, you’ll implement and maintain processes and standards to deliver new products within a robust and controlled product creation framework.  
 
Responsibilities include: 

  • Raising funding requests and track spend within budget 

  • Evaluating, creating, and maintaining new and existing engineering processes and standards 

  • Guiding and supporting the Concerns Coordinator to facilitate and monitor the system 

  • Guiding the BoM Controller to assure the correct information is contained 

  • Representing engineering as a key stakeholder to ensure information flow is captured 

  • Planning and providing departmental training  

  • Supporting the deployment of systems and processes within engineering  

The requirements 

You’ll have a minimum of 5 years recent experience in a core engineering function or programme role. Other requirements include: 

  • Degree educated in a relevant engineering field  

  • Robust knowledge of product development process 

  • Strong understanding of PLM and ERP systems  

  • Experience in generating and maintaining engineering standards and documentation 

  • Experience leading others, either as direct reports or cross functionally 

  • Proficient in interpreting both technical and commercial information 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 

  • Adaptable, resilient, and open to change 

  • Action-orientated, proactive and works at pace  

  • Able to work in a start-up environment
