Job description | Our client is introducing a range of new and exciting automotive technologies across their range of motorcycles and is looking to bring in a talented, passionate, and driven component engineer at a junior level to join their Electronic Components Team to support their future model development in Leicestershire. The role As an Electronic Components Engineer, you’ll manage hardware requirements and provide support to systems and software teams. You will also design components for chassis, powertrain, RESS, electrical drivelines, and suspension systems. Other responsibilities include: - Ensuring components and modules meet all safety and standard requirements
- Identifying and resolving application problems and project risks
- Defining and meeting quality and cost targets
- Identifying best practise and emerging technological advances
- Developing hardware and full motorcycle architectures
- Generating and peer-reviewing design decision sheets, procedures, and tests requirements
- Undertaking and assisting with projects as required by your manager
The requirements You’ll be proficient in hardware specification, requirements capture/management and managing suppliers, as well as… - BEng or MEng in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent
- Understanding and experience in detailed hardware analysis and review with suppliers
- Experience managing suppliers to deliver ECUs against project deliverables
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of CAN communication and previous experience working within an automotive environment is desirable
- Excellent computer literacy skills (MS Office)
- Self-motivated, resilient, flexible, and adaptable
- Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines
- Logical approach to problem-solving
- Able to work in a multi-discipline team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexible and willing to undertake UK and overseas travel as required
