Do you have sales experience selling software into the Manufacturing industries? Are you looking for the next step in your career? Our client is seeking an ambitious and talented Design & Manufacturing Sales Consultant to join their team of industry professionals and help to realise their growth potential.

Our client is a specialist engineering software company who supply leading design technology as well as associated consultancy, integration and professional services. They work in a range of markets, spanning the architecture, engineering, construction, process, and plant industries. A leading reseller in the UK, they have a core focus on technical excellence and helping their clients to enhance their project workflows. 

The role 

As a Design & Manufacturing Sales Consultant, you will be focused on increasing our client’s customer base and delivering on revenue targets. The customer is at the heart of this role, and you will spend a large proportion of your time on the phone to prospective customers, from generating opportunities, to qualifying prospects, to closing deals. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities 

  • Making outbound calls to source new customers 

  • Generating sales leads 

  • Tracking lead and customer progress 

  • Understanding customer needs and advising on how our client’s products fit with their requirements 

  • Improving customer satisfaction and resolving queries  

  • Ensuring operational excellence for the customer base 

  • Dealing with customer enquiries 

  • Ensuring rapid responses to sales requests 

  • Identifying accounts and key stakeholders within them 

  • Generating interest in our client’s portfolio of products 

  • Expanding prospects within your territory 

  • Supporting the sales team and the service delivery team with meeting customer needs 


The requirements 

Our client is looking for someone who has sales experience within the manufacturing space. The successful candidate will have proven technical knowledge and a strong track record in sales, as well as:  

Other requirements include: 

  • Degree educated in a relevant discipline desirable     

  • Knowledge and experience of selling a solution aligned to PLM, CAE or CAD software 

  • Demonstrable track record in a software sales role 

  • Experience selling manufacturing software 

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills  

  • Ability to coordinate with stakeholders 

  • Confident at presenting and negotiating 

  • Able to identify and pursue new business opportunities 

  • Confident with outbound and proactive customer interactions 

  • Experience with sales forecasting 

  • Able to multitask and manage multiple projects in an organised manner 

  • Analytical and good at problem-solving 

  • Focused on quality, able to demonstrate a high level of care 

  • Excellent influencing skills  

  • Strong communication (both written and verbal) 

  • Excellent customer service skills   

  • Ability to develop long-term customer relationships 

  • Able to identify opportunities for improvement
