Our client is seeking a creative and talented Design Manager to join their team in Berlin and lead the development and innovation of their industry-leading automotive interior products.

Our client is a leading global supplier of automotive interior materials serving a wide range of OEMs and aftermarket customers. They are known for their innovative approach to automotive interior design, high-quality products, and strong commitment to sustainability.  

The role 

Within this role, you will manage a team of six designers and be responsible for running the design process from concept to production for all new automotive interior products, including products such as seat covers, headliners and door panels. 
Other responsibilities include: 

• Developing design concepts, sketches and renderings that meet customer requirements 

• Conducting research on industry trends, customer needs and materials 

• Collaborating with engineering and production teams 

• Ensuring that designs are manufacturable, meet quality standards, and are cost-effective 

• Communicating design concepts to customers and internal stakeholders 

• Anticipating and solving issues that may arise 

The requirements 
You’ll have 10+ years of experience in textile fabric design, as well as… 

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject  

• Evidence of identifying, managing and leading OEM relationships, at a strategic level 

• 3+ years in a management or leadership role 

• A robust design portfolio that highlights innovative and successful projects  

• Proficient in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, SolidWorks, and Alias 

• Experience with automotive manufacturing processes and materials 

• Strong expertise in fostering employee development  

• Proficient in German (written and oral) 

• Excellent communication skills and perceived fit with our client  

• Excellent project management skills.
