Our client is currently looking for a talented engineer to join their team as a Delivery Safety Consultant. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a key player in the automotive landscape.

The role

As a Delivery Safety Consultant, you will play a crucial role in delivering our client’s functional safety engineering services across the whole vehicle development cycle, from design to testing. Your knowledge, research, and input into the development of new functional safety services will be utilised to drive the operational excellence of an exciting variety of front-line technologies across a range of industries. 

Other responsibilities include:

  • Defining clear and robust project approach processes

  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives

  • Forming and maintaining relationships with a variety of stakeholders

  • Identifying the needs of clients and translating these into actionable projects

  • Owning technical engagements to ensure successful delivery of projects

  • Conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders 

 

The requirements

You’ll have demonstrable experience in creating and assembling a safety case for ground-based platforms and equipment, as well as: 

  • Degree educated in Electrical/Electronic or Systems Engineering, or another relevant discipline 

  • Corporate membership of an engineering institution, including Chartered Engineer qualification (or working towards this) 

  • Experience managing hazard logs as well as safety assessment of trials, prototype, or experimental systems 

  • Experience in safety verification and validation planning and analysis to Def-Stan 00-56 and application of IEC 61508 

  • Self-starter who is highly analytical and organised 

  • Outstanding information gathering and problem-solving skills 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with customers

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Flexible and willing to travel
