The role

Investing massively in their own battery manufacturing, testing and production capabilities – next generation technologies with a £10m R&D a week spend! My client are currently seeking a Cell Test & Simulation Engineer with the core responsibilities for extracting the data out of cells and producing/generating a suitable model and aid with defining the tests with the aim of achieving further developments of battery models for the prediction of life and performance of lithium-ion. You will measured by timely and effective definition of tests and interpretation of results

The requirements

Understanding of chemistry / materials characterization, experience at a cell level is an essential requirement plus…

You will demonstrate/possess the following:

  • Understanding of material characterisation (analytical techniques include XRD, XPS, ICP-MS, Raman, SEM)
  • Can demonstrate an understanding at cell level (cylindrical cell, button cell, prismatic cell and pouch)
  • Confident in Data acquisition & Processing – Scientific in understanding but engineering in mind-set
  • PhD / Strong degree in top electrical university
  • Some previous experience in a testing capacity would be beneficial
  • Have excellent communications skills
