With decades of experience and expertise in the development and manufacture of polymeric solutions for international markets. Our global client is currently looking for someone to join their team as Category Sales Manager.  

 

The company 

Our client is a global engineering and manufacturing firm with over 115 years’ experience. They are a Tier 1 supplier focused on the development and production of high value, lower volume rubber/polymer-based products for a variety of industries including automotive, aerospace, medical and defence markets globally. Backed by a major rubber manufacturer, this role will play a key part in further growth of the organisation and with this part of the business expecting to grow the most. 

 

The role 

As Category Sales Manager you will be responsible for defining the company’s vision, goals and how to win strategies for the category. Your focus will be on product performance, functionalities, dates, and pricing. You will become an expert in the market to help develop and implement medium-long-term road maps for your assigned category.   

Responsibilities include: 

  • Developing strategy and growth plans for new and existing accounts  

  • Forecasting product demand trends and identifying back fills 

  • Translating the customer needs into technical solutions 

  • Collaborating with marketing to deliver on project initiatives  

  • Leading the multifunctional category teams  

  • Delivering on business targets and objectives  

  • Building strategic relationships with customers to fully understand their needs 

  • Understanding our client’s competition through SWOT analysis, strategies and sku  

  • Implementing pricing strategies and plans  

  • Developing a customer sell presentation to secure market share 

  • Overseeing customer account management 

 

The requirements 

You’ll have a minimum of 10 years’ sales experience with a proven track record of selling to OEMs. Other requirements include: 

  • Degree in a relevant subject 

  • Knowledge of CRM systems and how to maximize the data to your advantage  

  • Outstanding knowledge of the industry 

  • Able to forecast and track key account metrics 

  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) 

  • Strong leadership skills 

  • Can do attitude and exceptional analytical skills  

  • Able to define strategy and solutions autonomously  

  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
