Do you have experience working in a strategic sourcing role? A market-leading meditech company is currently looking for Category Manager to join their Indirect Sourcing team on a 12-month FTC. In this role you’ll develop and manage strategic category sourcing plans.

Our client are a global leading medical device and technologies company who manufacture market innovative medical products focused on therapies for the management of chronic conditions. They work across four markets – advanced chronic and acute wound care, ostomy care, continence and critical care and infusion devices used in the treatment of diabetes and other conditions.

The role

As Category Manager you’ll be responsible for engaging with key category stakeholders and developing a global strategic sourcing strategy. This is a brilliant opportunity to join a team focused on delivering excellence in all areas.


Responsibilities include:

  • Development of strategic sourcing plans
  • Identifying, selecting and contracting suppliers
  • Creating a network of key customers
  • Monitoring and managing supplier performance (cost, quality, timescales)
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Generating value through increasing supplier performance
  • Engaging with key category stakeholders
  • Sourcing external manufacturing categories and services
  • Striving to achieve the best possible value for the company
  • Researching and implementing best practice
  • Understanding market dynamics and cost drivers in the supply markets in your area


The requirements

You’ll have experience working in a strategic sourcing role in the medical devices market, as well as…

  • Experience working in a strategic sourcing role
  • Track record of creating and implementing global sourcing strategies
  • Ability to proactively identify and respond to key issues
  • Ability to execute business analysis around complex issues
  • Experience with handling sourcing and productivity issues
  • Experience guiding and developing solutions for performance
  • Understanding of complex commodities sourcing strategy
  • Strong organisation skills
  • Ability to leverage networks to bring insight for the company
  • Ability to analyse pricing proposals
  • Excellent negotiation skills
