Are you looking for an opportunity to make an impact on the industrial future and be part of disruptive and ground-breaking global projects? Our client is seeking a Business Development Director – Power/Utilities to join their team in the US. 

The company 

Our client is a global industrial Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company enabling digital transformation within heavy-asset industries. Their core software product continues to power companies that increase sustainability, safety, and efficiency. 
 

The role 

As Business Development Director, you’ll contribute to our client’s growth by winning new business with Power & Utility accounts within your territory. You will help customers achieve improved business and operational results.  

Other responsibilities include: 

  • Developing and executing territory strategy to drive growth and win new customers 

  • Generating new pipeline and providing commercial insights 

  • Managing complex sales cycles and leading your territory team 

  • Utilising value-selling processes and negotiating pricing and business terms 

  • Accurately forecasting monthly and quarterly results 

  • Demonstrating our client’s solutions in-person and via web-based presentations 

The requirements 

You’ll have 7+ years of direct sales experience carrying a quota and selling enterprise SaaS to C-level executives in the power generation industries. Other requirements include: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject  

  • 5+ years’ experience selling into the Power & Utilities industry 

  • Strong technical background with operational technology and cloud experience  

  • Proven track record meeting and exceeding software goals with new customers 

  • Experience starting, managing, and closing complex sales cycles 

  • Detail oriented, strong relationship building skills and high level of customer service 

  • Superb time management and prioritisation skills  

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) 

  • Flexible and willing to travel across the region >50%
