This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to break into Lens Sales that has a Dispensing Optician background on the shop floor. Our client is currently looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team in the West Midlands.

The role

As Business Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for increasing and developing the sales of our client’s product portfolio within the territory, across the Independent, Lab, Regional and National Channels.  

Other responsibilities include:  

  • Achieving and over-achieving agreed sales targets  

  • Educating and training customers’ by demonstrating features and benefits of the products 

  • Providing technical and optical support and excellent customer service  

  • Operating within agreed cost budgets for entertainment, lens budget, and expenses 

  • Executing joint marketing, local promotions, and incentives for sales growth  

  • Adhering to company rules and regulations through the adoption of best practice 

  • Proactively develop own product, optical, and sales knowledge 

  • Completing all essential administration documents on time 


The requirements

You will have field-based sales experience and/or experience in practice dispensing, as well as:

  • Qualified Dispensing Optician 

  • Experience managing a sales region (Desirable) 

  • Industry knowledge and experience working with ophthalmic lenses  

  • Technical experience in manufacturing  

  • Results orientated, good relationship builder, and able to work on own initiative 

  • Excellent planning and organisational skills 

  • Competitive team player  

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

  • Able to work under pressure in a dynamic environment

  • Strong computer literacy skills (Microsoft Office)

  • An enthusiastic and can-do attitude, with a drive to succeed
